Hmpf, that didnt seem to give the boost I hoped for. For some queries it was faster but for others it was way slower than a traditional "LIKE '%abc%'".

The main problem I guess is that you need to have an additional "GROUP BY wordid" because otherwise a word such as "1abc1abc123" will return two hits from this permuted table (both as "abc1abc123" and "abc123").

Anyone else in here who might have an idea regarding this topic ?
