Hi Patrick,
There can be many causes for your problem and it's impossible to tell what it is without more information. Can you please provide the following information:
* EXPLAIN SELECT * FROM reservations r JOIN contacts c ON r.client=c.breeze_id WHERE r.contact_id IS NULL
* SELECT count(*) FROM reservations r JOIN...
* SHOW CREATE TABLE for both tables.
