Re: MYSQL 4.1.7 crashes - SPIDER?!
I have the same type of problem , but different:
1. I see the MySQL system tray monitor showing LOTS of traffic, while at the same time in MySQL administrator, I can see a second connection thread for the root user!! Usually, MySQL administrator should show only one connection thread, the one it is actually using to administer MySQL...
2. Within the MySQL administrator tool and while the previously explained situation happens (it happens regularilly, every 10-30 minutes, hanging my computer for about less than a minute), I can also see severall requests in the "Number of SQL Queries" (from the Health icon of the administrator's left menu - around 6 when this happens)..
...Have the developpers shipped the 4.1.7 version with a spider imbedded?!?
