keep in mind that ndbd is currently laregly single threaded (real world tests show it'll use about 1.2-1.3 CPUs). you could have 1 ndbd using all of that memory though.

Remember you'll want multiple machines (for redundancy). perhaps two dual xeons (or 4 single xeons - esp if they're dual core) makes more sense.
