can the behaviour of LocalCheckPoint be changed ?

Hello All,
I observed that during LocalCheckPoint all the node records in the memory is written to the disk by all the nodes.
Say, I have 1 Million records split across 4 DB nodes. If i add just 1 more record to this set and during LocalCheckPoint I suppose all the 1Million 1 records are written to the disk. Is there any possibility in the MySQL cluster to change this behaviour. I assume to increase in performance if i can do so.
Thanks in advance.
