Hi Jon,

my table has no AUTO_INCREMENT but a PRIMARY KEY. The field which we altered was not the primary key field. But independent the field is PRIMARY key or not it is very dangerous to allow the alter command without any warning BEFORE executing this command. A warning afterwards makes no sense because the data are lost.
