RHEL + > 4GB Per Process help

I have many systems, 2x 2.8ghz Xeon processors, and have provision to assign them 6gb of ECC memory each.

The OS has detected there is 6gb of memory installed, however, will NDBD consume say up to 5gb of that memory without adjusting anything, or do I need to self compile some sort of HUGEMEM + SMP kernel? Will that even allow the process to grow that far?
