MySQL Replication over WAN
I'm new to replication, so bear with me...
Is it possible to use multimaster replication over a WAN links? For instance, if I have six servers grouped in sets of two, one set in Philadelphia, one in Seattle, and one in Omaha, will there be any noticeable deterioration of performance because of the fairly long distance between them? The servers would be placed in datacenters with their many nines of uptime and would each have at least 1Mbps of bandwidth.
Would it be a better idea to set up two servers in a multimaster system, and have four slaves to the set? (saying that's possible?)
