MySQL Forums :: Replication :: Replication error?

I have a setup in which a server (production) acts as master, and a separate server (reports) is a slave. Last night, we had a set of reports go out with a mysql error 1016: can't open file ... (error 24) when executing one of the queries. Within half an hour, whatever the issue was had been resolved. I'm assuming replication had something to do with the issue and/or resolution. Can anyone tell me what might have happened and how I might prevent it from happening again?
