Restore of formated files
Hi
I'm not sure that this is the right forum, but I'll give it a shot any way.
I'm running MySql on a Windows platform. I recently had to format my harddisk. Unfortunately I forgot(!) to take a backup of one of my databases.
After having formated the harddisk, I tried to "unformat" the datafiles for the database (i.e. the files stored under %MYSQL%\data\) using a third party tool. The unformating seemed OK, so I tried to copy the restored files back into MySql.
Unfortunately, this did not work. I got the messages:
ERROR 1033: "Incorrect information in file '.\<database>\<table>.frm'", and for some of the tables "ERROR 1016: Can't open file '<table>.MYD".
Is there any possibility for me to get hold of the old data as they were prior to the formating?
Regards,
Petter
