MySQL backup space management
Dear All,
I have a query please help me out as early as possible. After taking backup using mysqldump and even directly droping the tables from the database i was unable to reduce the disk space as much as i was expecting. e,g i had nearly 80,000 tables occuping sapce nearly 11GB, but after taking backup and droping the tables(nearly 70,000) from that server , I have seen that the used disk-sapce is still 9.5 GB. i think i have made point, please tell me why it is so and how should i free that diskspace.
Thanks in advance
