MySQL Enterprise Backup
I am reviewing the documentation on MySQL Backup, which I have to say lacks in many areas. However, I am struggling with the fundamental differences between plan backup option and the backup-and-apply-log. Does anyone have any good references or data on the true differences?
Also, I am backing up a very large DB 500GB - 1TB, with a large insert rate, and debating on full backups everyday with compression (hence the above question) which does not work with backup-and-apply-log or just full with incremental's (high change rate has me concerned. Love any feedback.
