MySQL physical files

My hard drive has recently kinda crashed, leaving me unable to boot off of it. As such, I am unable to use the traditional method of getting a copy of the database (since it kinda requires the computer that has the database be "on"). I can, however, get at the files using an external USB hard drive enclosure. Unfortunately, I don't know which file would contain the database. It seems that some file ought to, but like I said - I don't know which one.
I'm running MySQL 5.0 on Windows XP.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
