Some of the capabilities that would support this include the ability to have the server stop, or suspend its services in the event that it becomes unable to write to any of its log files. Support for SSL, encrypted passwords also support PL4 (Protection Level 4), and I know that MySql has that support. I have not seen that it can stop itself upon log failure, only that it logs a crash.
