Thank you Edwin. Is there a particular error message that I can use if there is a mismatch between the client and server authentication mechanisms? For example what if a client which doesn't have support for native authentication tries to establish connection with MySQL server 5.6/5.7, what error do we expect to get? Do we have a defined error code for such a scenario already?
