processhit results

My 3rd party software has issued SHOW PROCESSHIT a number of times- along with many, many other SQL commands. It's always returned reliable results that matched MySQL Query Browser's.
Recently, 2 out of 3 users of this software have been getting only one record results - as if they did not have PROCESS privileges. But, this user is hard-coded with the PROCESS privileges and checking with MySQL Admin confirms that privilege.
Here's the weird part. If the Query Browser is open, they see full results. Close the Browser and they see only the 1 record result of their own thread.
How is this possible? Please help.
