Which Directory does MySql store data for a Temporary Table

Hi,

I tried to insert huge amount of data into a temporary table.But even when the data directory was specified in D:\ drive... , my C:\ drive was used up totally and i had to stop Mysql session.

This Keeps me guessing, Which directory does Mysql put the temporary data for Temporary tables(If not the data directory).
