I've the same problem. I've just installed MySQL 4.1, MyODBC driver 3.51.10.
I also use DB Tools Manager for administration and it works fine.

Both via VB6 (ADO 2.8) and ASP page, when I call the Open method I get the following error:

Provider (0x8000FFFF)
Catastrophic error

This is the connection string:
"server=localhost;Driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};Database=pagine;UID=root;PWD=;"

Could you give me (us...) some suggestion please?
