ODBC Connector in Access - All fields '#Deleted'

Has anyone seen/solved the problem with using MyODBC with Access where importing a table results in all fields showing #Deleted as the value?
I've seen several posts about timestamps but that doesn't seem to work for me.
I have noticed that if I Import the table it works just fine. I only have the problem when I Link the table - which, of course, is what I need to do!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
MySQL 4.1.9
ODBC Connector 3.51.11 (with 'Don't Optimize Column Width' and 'Return Matching Rows' checked)
XP SP2
