MyODBC Connector crashes when testing connection

Hi,

Has anyone had an instance where there MyODBC connector v 3.51 on a Windows 2000 server hangs when testing the connection to a MySQL server?

I am migrating from MSSQL to MySQL. I installed the connector on the W2k box, tested the connection. I even used the MSDTS Export/Import wizard to create the database tables on the MySQL box (running RHL ES3).

I got some unsupported 'BLOB' error messages with the tables and then decided to configure iptables to secure the exposed Linux box before tackling the table conversion problems.

Afterwards, my W2k box's system DSN to the Linux box hangs when I try to connect. I know it's not the firewall because I get the same 'lock-up' results when I drop the firewall. I've "NMAP'ed" the Linux box from the W2k Box and the MySQL port is visible. There is nothing on the W2k box that is using the MySQL port.

Since I have actually created tables on the Linux box from the W2k box, I can only conclude that something on the W2k box is broken.

Since this is my first experience with the MyODBC interface, I am at a loss as to why the connector would just 'hang' or where to find it's log file.

Thank you in advance for any assistance!
