occasional "The transaction has aborted." messages at client

MySQL client application runs at Windows hosts, connects through .Net connector to a remote MySQL 5.6 26 db server (running at a Linux host).

Occasionally, at various client/app hosts a following message is recorded:
"The transaction has aborted."

No corresponding messages in the db server's error log file.

What are the recommended ways to investigate and resolve similar cases ?
