The time zone used by MySQL is the Linux host server time zone, and this is the 3 letter code that that the driver won't use because it's ambiguous. Is there a recommended way to handle this? Maybe some way for MySQL to use more precise time zone information from the host? I'd prefer that MySQL continue to use a time zone that matches the server.

thanks,
Paul
