connect j 3.0.15 ga has no implimentation of many functions of result set

hi
I am using "mysql-connector-java-3.0.15-ga" for connecting mysql using jdbc. But i found out that the "result set" has many methods to be implemented yet, source "http://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector/j/en/index.html"; see Un-implemented Functionality under this link.
Basically i was looking @ resultset for retrieving rows. Is there any other method to retrieve rows..??
Can u suggest me a better way to connect to mysql through jdbc. I want to do all the database operations.
