i have installed apache also.
i have removed all the existing mysql files.
now from the scratch i need to download mysql.

can anyone help me as to which version of mysql is supported for the above mentioned platforms.and what are the files i need to download ( i knew only server ,client and standard). heard that cgi should be used? can it be done through CGI also.

my application is a small one which am trying to learn perl and mysql.
actually, i have a webpage with username and password and a submit button.
once i enter the values and press the submit button, i need to check with the database and if he is valid, direct to another page or else not.if he is a new user, he registers and those details must be stored in the database.

plz can anybody help me with this so that i can learn mysql and perl.
