Restoring MySQL Version 4.1 Backups to a 5.0.15 MySQL Server

Anyone know how to restore a version 4.1.11 backup to a server running 5.0.15 that was created using phpMyAdmin?

I have used MySQL Administrator which reads the backup file successfully and reports that the restore was successfull (I've tried using character set Latin1, Latin5 and UTF-8). But when I view the schema all the tables are listed, but they contain 0 bytes and are totally empty. In other words, it restores the database tables but not the data. I've used MySQL administrator 1.1 and 1.0.21 - both do exactly the same thing.

I've looked at the MySQL 5 Reference Manual and it doesn't discuss resoring backups made with an older version.

Thanks

Ted
