Basic SQL Server admin help needed for migration.

I need some very basic Windows administration help.

I am helping some friends planning the migration of their MS SQL Server DB running on Windows 2000 to MySQL on Linux.

The problem is that I have never used either MS SQL Server nor Windows 2000, but I am much more familiar with the target platform.

Both this site's article:
and the MS documentation:
point out that we can dump the DB with either of the following tools:
DTS wizards or bcp.

The problem is that both documents assume a minimum level of experience with windows, which I don't have.
I need help finding my way around Windows 2000.
Where do I find out if the DTS wizards is installed? Is it in the menu?
What about bcp? Is it a command line tool to run in a windows console? Do I need to launch the msdos prompt to use this?

What other basic stuff should I be aware of that is not mentionned in the documents here?

The official outsourced SysAdmin dealing with that server told my friends that none of this MySQL/PHP stuff is possible... (for him...), so I dare not ask Him! @#!

I may sound silly (and I probably am...) but it seems I have to learn to use windows after all...

Thank you for any help...
