Thanks for that, I will try to use it, but I have found that info before, and have used it for other connections.

But just so I can see if I understand it:

in my case instead of using .\instancename I would use localhost or 127.0.0.0 with perhaps the port number to try and make the connection to the default schema of the MySQL server?
