Re: Using MySQL and Oracle on 1 Server

I would like to add a further refinement to this question. I would like to add MySQL to an existing server (SunFire V240) running Solaris 9 which is currently running Oracle 8i. I don't have a choice about ditching the Oracle, which would be my preference. I understand that there may be a performance hit without implementing the caveats of different disks and multiple CPU's, but will the two peacefully coexist on the Sun server? Will there be any other problems or things I should be aware of in this environment? The access speed for Oracle is not real critical.

Thanks in advance.
