Union via ODBC

I am having a problem and was hoping someone might have a suggestion or work-around.

I have migrated my MS Access tables and data to MySQL 4.1.7 running on Windows XP. I have an Access query that contains multiple Unions. When I run the query I get an ODBC call failed error complaining of SQL syntax.

The query works with Access tables. I can get a query with 1 union to work through ODBC. I can get the multiple union to work directly on MySQL. It might work with a view but I would have to wait for 5.0 to become stable. The query is used often and the data changes on a regular basis, so I want to avoid temporary tables.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
