funcion que retorna tabla

Hola!
Por lo que he visto, una función en mySQL no puede retornar una tabla. Hay alguna alternativa o solución?
Necesitaría crear una función, a la que pasaría unos parámetros y ella me retornaría valores similares a una consulta.
