Replication doesn't write to database.

We have had replication setup between two servers for a long while. Recently the slave would stop replicating data with out any errors or warnings. The only way to identify this is by setting up a heartbeat service.

mysql> show slave status\G
*************************** 1. row ***************************
Slave_IO_State: Waiting for master to send event
Connect_Retry: 60
Master_Log_File: mysql-bin.000789

Log positions change and the relay log continues to grow but no data in the database is updated.

No errors in the error log, bin log or system logs.

Any ideas what might be happening or causing this?
