This is what I did (using an Administrator account only):
- Downloaded mysql-5.6.17-winx64.zip
- Extracted the file to C:\Program Files\MySQL
- Opened cmd and executed the two following commands:
cd C:\Program Files\MySQL\bin
mysqld
- Then I posted the error message from mysqld in this forum
I need to know which files need to be configured in my case. I just want to do basic things with databases (create, execute queries, etc), it's just for study porpuses, I don't want advanced features.
