problems with ex- and import because of collation

Hi!

I was working with "apachefriends XAMPP" for long time for developing my own scripts. Now as I want to export all the databses an tables I created and I was working with, to my native debian mysql daemon.

(MySQL-Client-Version: 5.0.24a / Server Version: 4.0.24_Debian-10sarge2-log)

but the phpmyadmin (unstable version phpMyAdmin - 2.9.0.2-Debian-1) version
(nativ mysql dab daemon) does not support any imports of my XAMPP dumps.

The Servers Version is younger than the XAMPP version, but anyway I'm not
able to import the dumps or even to create datatbases with another collation.

And thats it. I can't create Databases with other collations. I dont even
have the possibility to change or choose the collation for apart databses.

Sure, I read about starting the daemon using another collation, but thats
not the solution I need. I'd like to choose the collation for each database
as I am able to in the following screenshot (xampp)

http://serjoscha.hopto.org/WEB/files/nocollation_xampp.jpg

but instead of this I only get this view

http://serjoscha.hopto.org/WEB/files/nocollation_debian.jpg

what do I need to set something up like I'm able to create DBs using seperat
collations for each DB ?

I think it's not a phpmyadmin problem

Thank ahead !!!

With Friendly Regards Serjoscha
