Support for multiple languages in a single MySQL DB

Hi Forum,

I need to create a MySQL database, for an E-Com based website that will support two different languages: US English and Spanish.

Can you please advise me about the what can be the possible things i should do at the database end to support these two languages? Will i need to take care of the datatypes and configure some server settings for this?
