utf8 and japanese: some chars not correct

Hello all,
Implementing utf8 for a web site, all seems to be fine but... Some chars (only some) seems not to be correctly stored in the mysql database (charset utf8 column)

For exemple
- ボ (30 DC) is not correctly restored
- ポ (30 DD) is correct
I think some information is missing for me!
Is there a way to get an hexa dump from a mysql field to control this?

Thanks in advance
