German umlauts are damaged using old PHP API
Hi,
If I try to access my MySQL 5 DB server from my webhoster, who uses an old PHP-MySQL-API, all my umlauts and special characters are distroyed. For example, 'Österreich' becomes 'Österreich'.
Is there any tricky way to still get the correct umlauts or is there no chance if the API is out of date?
