trailing spaces not removal after retrieval for char binary

I'd like to know if there is a way in which the trailing spaces removal after a retrieval from a char binary
field could by avoid? for example through a sql-mode or any way to configurate o rinstruct de server, in order to change that behaviour.

I know there is the option at the ODBC client "PAD CHAR TO FULL LENGTH", but sometimes this option is not enough for some sentences, because if a concat is made with char binary field, the result doesn't take in account the trailing spaces of every field.
