Can't enter international chars into mysql.

I cannot enter international chatacters into the linux mysql client. If I try to type them, they jsut don't appear. If I try to paste them from a copied string, I get all the 'normal' characters with the accented ones removed. For example, pasting "éxéyéxé" would display "xyz". I can insert é characters using the windows version of Query Analyzer and I can select those values back out of the database, so I believe the server and database is set up properly. I can also enter the international characters at the linux command line so I believe that the locale is set up to that point.

Thanks!
Cj
