UPDATE
I AM able to insert and select Unicode characters via my .NET applications and MySQL Connector NET 1.0.7. However, when I select those rows from the MySQL Command line, it is showing garbage instead of the proper characters.
I guess the MySQL Command Line Client for Windows is not capable of handling Unicode characters.
