Customizing a migration script

Hello

Is there a possibility to modify a .lua script in order to change the access fields type into other types in mysql before transferring the data (for example, transform a DATETIME access field into a DATE Mysql field) ?
I assume this would be written in the checkpoint 4 of the script, but i am definitely not a good programmer :-)
