How to (temporary) disable one partition in the partitioned table

Dear MySQL Guru,
Is it possible to disable ('turn off') one partition in the partitioned table (just like it is possible with Oracle)? How can I do this? (and how to 'turn it on' after that).

That is wanted to simulate fail of a part of the system.
