Horizontal partitioning on a per user basis?
I'm looking for a solution where I can have the structure and maintainability of one large database, but with the security and performance of smaller separate databases.
This seems to be more and more common with Saas and cloud solutions, where all instances have identical database structures.
So, is it possible to set up one database that stores the tables for each user separately, so as to offer the security and performance of being it's own database?
Is this something that MySQL can do, or something that it plans to be able to do in the future?
