Oracle 8i to mySQL full text search issues.
Hello,
I have an Oracle 8i database which is capable fo performing a full text search on 3rd party sites. For example you enter the URL of a document in a field and it will actually go and add that document to its library and is capable of full text searching that document.
I have transferred the entire oracle DB to mySQL 4.0 but I am unable to keep this full text functionality of Oracle. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this functionality going to be added to mySQL in the future? The hard solution is to copy the text of each document into a blob or text field in mySQL but i'm hoping there is something easier.
