yes, but there are scripts (e.g. in PHP) that build an index automatically. they will cycle through all your directories and open all html files (*.htm, *.php etc) and copy the text to the database.
and then that data can be used for searching. you gat a readyto use search enging. all you need to do is to upload the script do some configuration let it create the index.
since i always think about that before i create my webpages i don't need such a script. so i cant tell you where you can get it or what the name of such a script is.
