Gee, your question got buried in thie thread, but the answer is to start the command-line interface (start-run-cmd), 'cd' to the drectory where myswl.exe is (If the path contains spaces, enclose it in quotes, for example: cd "C:\Program Files\Mysql\MySql Server 5.0\bin\")
and then key
mysql -u root
at the command prompt
