Hi Jake

Since there are no children without parents I guess you are correct. The best return from the big table would be equal to the retrurn of the small one. A case where all parents above a number ie 300000 each has only one child).

Just for the record, when you do
SELECT * FROM header a WHERE a.race_id > 300000
and then
SELECT * FROM details b WHERE b.race_id > 300000

what results do you get?
