Please run SHOW TABLE STATUS and SHOW INDEX commands for all tables used by the query on both serwers and post output of these commands.
Have you tried to run ANALYZE TABLE on the slave ?
Try to analyze tables on both servers to refresh statistics and then compare plans again.
