Thanks for your replies Rick and Jorgen,

Indeed, there are a lot of values in the IN(). Your article is very interesting, I didn't know about 'eq_range_index_dive_limit'. Unfortunately we do not use 5.6 but we are looking forward to its GA release...

Thanks again and it is nice to see that some people from MySQL Optimizer team are here in Trondheim!
