Database structure question

A number of months ago I started a project, but then I did not realize the need of a good database structure, so I made that every user has his own table, named "{username}_products".

So, in this case, when 1000 users signup, I'll have ~1020 tables in my database.

Is this a SERIOUS problem, which I should immediately work on, or it is acceptable and does not lead to slow db operations, etc.
