I appreciate the links you sent, it's some helpful reading.

I decided to create a "flat" table to keep track of what I need to for reporting purposes. I feel like it's a lot less to maintain since I can update the table in real time with the data I need and then when anyone is viewing a report that needs to see this data, I'm only retrieving one row with the columns needed.

This report is already doing A LOT and to be honest could probably use a re-write. It's one of those situations where it was intended to be small but then over time we just keep adding more and more to it.
